If you use sandpaper, use extremely high grit. Like 1000+ grit.
I am not sure what brasso is, but if it is like mothers polishing
wading, it leaves a finish behind that may not work to well.

Personally, I recommend using scotch pad or steel wool. If
you use the steel wool, plan on disassembling the entire ram
and cleaning when done to make sure all of the steel wool
gets cleaned out of the ram.

Remember, the purpose of this mod is to make a super smooth
ram shaft, not to make it smaller.

PS
I believe there should be directions for several mods under "ICDU"
on the menu to the left of the page.

do not use brasso.

do use super fine steel wool or any wet sand paper that is marked for polishing metal, 1000+. I have used a dremel before but i find dremels are better for other applications. the easiest way ive found to do the shaft is to take it all apart. so that your left with just the shaft and attach it to a cordless drill so you can spin it. (DO NOT ATTACH IT TO THE SIDES WITH THE THREADS!!!!) turn on your drill and take your steel wool or sandpaper and go at it.. I used steel wool first for about 10min and then switched to the wet sand paper (keep dipping the wet sand paper into a cup of water, it works much better when wet) for another 10 or 15min. it now looks like a mirror Wink

polishing the hammer isnt as important as the shaft. buy yeah steel wool and wet sandpaper will do it.

as for lightening the hammer ... i wouldnt do it if you only have one hammer.. buy an extra and experiment on that. or just have someone who has already done it to do it for you.

i have used only Flitx and no steel wool or sand paper

takes a while longer but hey still worked damn well for me

same idea put non threaded side into drill chuck

rag with polish, and uh uh uh hehehehehehe you get the idea

the ram housing you need to fit a plishing tip into the housing and use metal polish, pretty easy when you get the hang. just dont over do
