I was just checking my PM's on PBreview and I saw a link to this gun and I have to say that I'm impressed. I've always liked the idea of a magazine fed PB gun and I think they have done a good job here. It's ROF leads something to be desired, but it's a great design and when I finally get a chance to make it out to OK I'm gonna have to take one of these with me.

Here's the link. There's a nice video on there too about the gun.

i'm sorry, i have no problems with woodsball, though i don't have a taste for it anymore, but will go out there with my team and friends because i would rather be with them. but reading that write up on the Rap4, it makes me sick like reading a SP propaganda sheet from their site.

"The new design also drastically improves its power, easily achieving a maximum range of 300 feet with an effective range of 200 feet." unless i missed some physics paper, a paintball at 300fps, will only go so far, unless it has some device that induces spin like the Flatline barrel. so can an inclosed feed system, or just the general operation of the marker make a paintball go any further than a Bushy or DM? i understand hype, especially within the home site for it, but does anyone with a brain cell realize that nothing other than a higher than 300fps velocity make the ball go any farther than it can?

i am all for the growing of Paintball as a sport. to see it on TV, as well as in print media, in good ways, can only do good for this game we love and play, but this doesn't sit well with me. i grew out of the para-military fashion sense, and if i wanted to use a M16, i would buy one from Colt. but i have no need to buy a look-a-like, nor care to. though i won't stop anyone else from buying one if they so choose to.

and i don't know if you knew this already, this isn't the first magazine feed gun. you have the TS-1/AT-85 series that worked and worked well(if you maintained the drive system). so this doesn't impress me in the least. sorry if i'm a wet blanket, but i just can't see anyone get cockcold with smoke and mirrors.

If I can remember right, I beleive this company started out with making simulation guns that used paintballs smaller than .68, for police training and such. It looks like now they are branching out with a mil-sim gun for a more mainstream consumer. Pretty cool I guess.

Yeah I think that they are really trying to cater to the military and police business. I base this on the last paragraph of the page that talks about the money saved when training with paintball equipment vs light detection or firearm type training platforms.

I'm not super big on the milsim look, I've just always wanted them to further develop bottom fed loaders so that we can get rid of our hoppers.
I'm sick of getting shot out cause I've got this football sticking out over my gun. Plus I would like for the barrel to be the first thing over the bunker not my loader.

I've been banging a power-bottom feed for a while now and I hoping that one day I'll get to build it, so I always like designs that are going in that direction.

Oh and please note the title......scenarios Dream, this should have hinted that the topic was going to be a mil-sim type marker.

ooh, they made a .68 cal version now.

I agree with you about the hopper adriann, but for now i deal with it because theres not a better solution (q-loader=too expensive and too small

Yeah, I really don't like the Q-loader cause it just kinda looks wierd and awckward (sp).

What I've been working on is a bottom feed wheel driven loading system. That when attached to the marker would look like the box feed on a S.A.W. The balls would be housed inside the box and at the bottom of the box is the drive wheel that feeds the balls up into the breach. That way there is limited profile, large capacity, and if the marker is electric you could set it up with an intellifeed to keep up.

Just an idea, maybe one day I'll get around to putting it into a tippy.

So I'd be an idea similar to the warp feed system? I've got a Tac-5 that I'm working on and since the feedneck is reversable to face left or right, I want to put it upside down and completly eliminate the hopper or any type of tube along the top of the marker. I was looking at making my own version of the warp feed, but I havent really gotten into it yet. I'm still working on getting the marker up to par with a nice woodsball marker.

Yeah the warp feed is the basis for the design. It just requires a marker to be under fed. But just turn the wheel sideways so that the outlet is directly under the breech, then imagine the motor mechanism being inside a box that is attached to the marker like a S.A.W. or other belt fed machine gun. Then an angled ramp would feed balls down into the drive wheel with a small aggitator to keep is moving.

So it'll kinda be like a Revy + Warpfeed. One of these days I'm gonna give it a shot.

Do you mind if I go at it with my Tac-5? That sounds like something of a worthy idea, and very workable with the ajustable feedneck on it.

Mine would have been another hopper Molded to fit the drive mechanism for my Pulse sideways and have the paintballs feed into it and forced upward into the marker.
