Drafting might be good as a minor. Unless you enjoy the internal workings of markers. But if you're into designing guns cosmetically I'd hafta say some Art courses or somethin' since a lot of markers are streamlined or resemble other things in the world i.e. Dragons, flames etc. etc. Surprised

Mechanical Engineering is the route I would go for what you are wanting to do...that is, if you want to do it well.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have majored in Mechanical Engineering because of the vast amount of technology it covers. However, you will find that other engineering specialties will also provide the expertise necessary to design and fabricate a paintball gun from scratch. For example, I studied Chemical Engineering and a lot of the material that covers fluid and material dynamics, as well as reactor design, can be applied to how paintball guns operate.

Good luck and have fun.

You could always go the technical route and learn how to weld, grind, and bore your own paintball guns from scratch :}

I would say Civil Engineering - You get all the base courses you need for Mechanical, but it's generally a more marketable degree.

Also if you are interested in the outdoors - Environmental Engineering is good as well.

There are many degress that you can apply to paintball. Depends on which side you want to approach it. If you want to just machine, the technical route is a good way to go, then apprentice yourself to an airsmith. If you want to design then go through a degree in a 4 year college, then you can come out and try your luck in the pb work force.

Pretty much you can get into paintball in almost any field, its just how you apply your knowlege.
