That black and blue sounds like a good combo, gotta try it one day. |
Yup it is, Blue Moon on the bottom and Guiness on top.
The other one that is terrific is Guiness and Yuengling. The Yuengling is on the bottom and the Guiness is on the top. Its actually really strange how it drinks. Guiness never gets very cold and really shouldn't be served like any ice cold Coors. However, that Yuengling (once you get to it) is like a burst of the Antarctic in your mouth. Really a neat experience to drink. Find a nice Irish pub and they can make you up one. |
Since it's basically St. Patricks and you could call me a dirty mick with one look at me, I splurged and got me some Guinness the other day. Planning on downing a few of those tomorrow.
Can't get any Yuenglings around here, but if I ever come across it I'll have to try it.
Anyone going out of their way to get any green beer? Anyone going out to any special bars for the occasion?
I used to be a regular down at Kells in Portland, but being that I live quite a ways out of town, I won't be down there.
There is a Rogue pub in town here though. Might have to go down there just for a Shakespeare Stout(on nitro!) and Kells Irish Lager black and tan.

The Irishman in me says green beer is an abomination. I have a six pack of smithwicks for tomorrow. I am gonna see if I can drain all six after finals tomorrow night and still write my term paper.

That sounds challenging.... not the drinking, but the writing part, lol. I had trouble enough with those sober.
Btw, did any of you guys try this years Lienie's Fireside Nut Brown? I am so disappointed. They changed their formula this year, and it does not taste nearly as good as the '08-'09 season. I was feeling giddy as a schoolgirl when it finally hit stores in Nov., bought a case, and yuk. Now I have 23 left....

^Awesome. Myself, I haven't had a good Belgian in a while.
The gf brought home a bomber of Fort George North the Fourth today after work. (It pays off to have a gf work next to a brewery!)
Haven't had it before and on the bottle it says it's brewed with candy canes, cranberries and spruce tips.
We'll see how it goes down.

Firestone-Walker 14th Anniversary Ale. $25 a bomber and worth every penny.
Go-to is Guinness or Samuel Smith's Nut Brown.
