It's all those unethical **** shooters.

I have never worn a cup paintballing. I got hit in the pad a few months ago. Scared the crap out of me, but the pad absorbed all the force.

A bit of OT, one of my buddies was playing in shorts (and boxers underneath that) many years ago. He was crouched down and had one go up the pant leg onto his testicles. It was like the death star.

I picked up a pair of Olive Green Raven Tournament pants from Craigslist for about $20. Simple looking pants with reinforcement in areas that you need it, knees specifically. Standard cargo pant pocket configuration with a nice swab pocket on the lower leg, all upper pockets are hook and loop closures so nothing falls out. Durable ripstop style fabric. The part I like the best is the zippered pant legs that can turn them into shorts. When it's hot as hell outside, you can unzip them between games and ventilate as necessary, or wear as shorts if you desire! No padding per se, but they are thick enough and baggy enough that you don't really feel alot of hits and had several bounces last round of play.

Did have one scare though. Posted up on a tree and didn't see someone had an angle on my boys. Took a shot about an inch and a half away on the left thigh, surrendered without looking for a break, and seriously contemplated wearing a cup from then on. Still contemplating that one.
