Gawd, I couldn't stand Blackballed. Didn't even watch it all the way through. For some reason I can't stand movies that don't accurately portray things the way they are. My dad recommended this episode from a show called Community in which they played paintball. Turned it off after 5 minutes when none of them were wearing masks. My dad said it ended with them pouring paint on some of them since in the rules it didn't say a player had to be tagged out by a 'paintball'. Gah. Horrible.

Watched Pirate Radio and Crazy Heart recently. Although I liked Jeff Bridges performance (really, he was just The Dude from the Big Lebowski playing country music and making out with a 30 year old) I still couldn't finish either movie. I'm so jaded.

A coworker recommended Buffalo 66. He said it was so bad it was good. Anyone seen it?

Nah, but I want to see "Bad Company." I heard that is pretty good. Jeff Bridges made a fricking awesome Rooster Cogburn though. I have been watching the John Wayne "True Grit" over the last few days and I feel like the Duke was too clean cut for the role.

The boss was telling me they did a paintball scene in some Matthew McConahay movie. She said it was a speedball field with all the proper markers and such, except the players were also using paint grenades.

If I have paid for a movie, I will finish it. Sometimes I will turn something that is on-demand off, but it has to be pretty bad. I think the last movie I turned off was the one with the Vampires and the Werewolves...I forget the name, but they kept making them. "Underworld" maybe?

Yeah, the paintball scene in "Failure to Launch" was the most painful thing to watch ever.

*shudders* He is really a hit or miss actor. Mostly miss. Perhaps it is more fair to say he is a miss actor.

I enjoyed True Grit enough I'm now reading the book. I was thinking about watching the original but I'm not much of a John Wayne fan anyway.

I will finish it, but it is not nearly as good.

How is the book?

seen it twice, have it. some love it, as the desperate soul trying to do good with parents that always seen him as a disappointment. it is slow, though all the scenes with Christina Ricci keep interest, and attention up(also, even though she's a heavier than normal, she looks better for it, IMO).

some hate it, as its slow paced, even though Ben Gazara, and Angelica Huston(as Vinnie Gallo's parents) give great performances. half the time, you are wondering why you have to watch this, the other times you are wondering where it is going.

its a tough one. a must for Vinnie Gallo fans, as the finale 10 minutes seem like warp speed, compared to the other 100+. though the only other Gallo film is "The Brown Bunny", which is a completely different story and well, the only thing you have to wonder is, if Vinnie popped or not. will give details in PM about this, but the film is near impossible to get in the US.

but, what kind of movie are you looking for? i have a love of the cinema and films. there's not much i've haven't seen or know about. have many gems good and bad(sometimes, a bad movie is funnier than a comedy).

I remember a scene from "King of Queens"(i loved that show) where they went and played paintball...they kept taking off their masks on the field and i kept yelling at them and telling my wife how dangerous that was...it was driving me insane.

i realize that for an actor to try to deliver lines and "act" while wearing a pb mask would be difficult since the audience can't see your mouth move or your facial expressions wich in a comedy would limit the laughs...so i say just stay away from pb in tv and movies because you set a bad example...

same thing for "failure to launch"...she takes her mask off on the field and i about blew a gasket. early in the scene Mconoghey's character shows her how to "walk" the trigger wich was a little cheezy. they used Timmys in that scene if i'm not mistaken. I wonder how much dye paid to have their banners plastered all over the field? Guess not enough to have them use DM's instead of the timmy's.

watched expendables yesterday... The Govenator had about a 5 min scene...is it me or is his acting actually getting WORSE???

over all i thought it was a fun movie...not winning any awards though.

It's good. I haven't gotten very far into it but it seems like the Coen brothers kept the dialogue pretty much the same. Gotta hand it to Charles Portis. Even though he wrote the book in the 1960's he seems to have accurately portrayed the dialect and general vernacular of the era in which the book was set.

I think just because Buffalo 66 has Christina Ricci in it, I should probably watch it.

And the Expendables too. Forgot about that one.

if there was a movie award for most "death by knife" scenes expendibles would be a nominee... or an award for "making up and having a beer with your friend after he double crosses you and tries to kill you"...would win for that hands down no question.
