and do to what that guy up top thinks halos are not heavy unless you some little girl. halos and eggs weight like a few oz difference. go with halo that has z-code. they come with it now anyways. imp stronger then the egg. the shells are about as strong as the old revy shells. pretty damn strong.

HALO Very Happy Very Happy

Some people around here must be smoking crack...

The original Evo had a more rigid star impeller design, with hard plastic "cupping" arms. The feed neck was absolutely straight and the body was mounted at about a 15 degree angle.

After the original Evo, came the newly redesigned Evo II. The flexible impellers were actually first introduced with the Evo II. Also, the "pit" that the impeller sits in and allowed the paintballs to "get in line" was introduced with the new Evo II. The first model of the Evo II was incapable of feeding faster than gravity. The eye/detection system also could act erraticly depending on lighting conditions.

Next came the Y-board. With the introduction of the Y-board, Evo IIs ARE force fed. Y-board Evo IIs can feed at about 15 BPS in the real world, which is faster than gravity. I repeat...Any hopper that feeds faster than what gravity would allow, is using force to do so. The Y-board also fixed the erratic behavior with the lighting sensor/eye system.

And with the Z-boards, the real world BPS has been improved to around 18...plus, you get an on/off switch, instead of the Y-board's push button on/off design.

Halos are force fed as well, but the main difference is that the paintball stack is under constant pressure with the Halo. Also, the Halo detection system/eye doesn't simply provide an anolog on/off control to the drive motor (like on the Evo II Y-board...don't know if the Z-board changed that feature). The Halo eye system can detect different reflectivity coming off the paintballs that pass by, sensing the beginning and ending of a ball as it pass, sending more of a wave type signal to the motor. This allows the Halo to be more responsive to gaps in the stack and adjust the motor accordingly.

Here is my an answer to the argument that you guys are having. the halo shoot down the balls with an impeller like an egg except for unlike an egg, even where the neck is full and you are not shooting, there is still pressure on the balls pushing it down thus making it force fed. They have this so that if you are snap shooting or something then right when you shoot, the balls will be going fast. The egg has an infra red sensor so that when there is balls filled up in the neck the motor stops. So the egg is I guess semi-force fed in that it shoots down the balls but will stop when the neck is full. hope that is helpful.
